SD-Market Data is managed by the 24-hour Data Management Unit (DMU), a team of seasoned financial markets professionals with backgrounds in banking, brokerage and market data vending.

The DMU is responsible for obtaining very reliable sources of data for the different instruments and products, as well as ensuring that the real time data used by the company in its pricing systems and revaluation service is accurate 24 hours a day. The DMU is also in charge of the quality of SD historical data used for analysis and value at risk (VAR) calculations.

All market data received by SD undergoes a number of validity checks. An automated escalation and alerting scheme is functioning at all times. Validation sensitivity will depend on the underlying asset and tenor. In addition to automated processes, a manual validation process is constantly in effect.

The DMU:

• Ensures the constant flow of data directly from the market to accurately reflect true market conditions. The team has constant access to the market, obtaining contributions from our varied sources, enabling immediate interaction in case of any rate queries and constant feedback from traders
• Accurately analyses and monitors the data. The team also monitors market events such as financial indicators and reacts to any sudden movement by checking the live interbank market and manually updating rates where nec­essary
• Manages both automated and semi-automated validation checks
